What is a residential proxy?
A residential proxy sends your requests from IPs that internet providers give to ordinary homes. To a website you look like someone browsing from home, so it is widely used for data collection, checking local search results and seeing how your own site looks from abroad.
On HiProxy you connect to gate.hiproxy.shop (HTTP/HTTPS on 6100, SOCKS5 on 6200) and add -zone-res to your username. Without a session ID, the IP changes on every request. Choose from 60 countries, and many of them let you pick a city too.
The difference from the unlimited plan is how you pay. Here only the GB you use are deducted, and the traffic has no validity period. You can burn through Plus 100 GB in a week or spread it over a year.
How is residential traffic priced?
Pricing is per GB, and the more you buy at once, the lower the rate: $0.41 for 5~24 GB, $0.38 for 25~99 GB, $0.35 for 100~499 GB, $0.32 for 500~1,999 GB and $0.28 for 2,000 GB or more.
There are four plan cards: Lite 25 GB for $9.50, Plus 100 GB for $35.00, Pro 500 GB for $160.00 and Max 2,000 GB for $560.00. For a different amount, enter anything from 5 to 5,000 GB in the dashboard. For example, $30 buys 78 GB. You pay from your balance and the traffic is added to your account.
What residential traffic includes
Traffic that stays
Unused GB remain in your account. Buy a large pack like Pro or Max at the lower rate and use it slowly.
Rate drops with volume
It starts at $0.41 per GB, drops at 25, 100, 500 and 2,000 GB, and the Max tier is $0.28.
60 countries, city targeting
Put the country after -cc- and the city after -city- in the username. Many countries go down to city level.
Rotating IPs and sticky sessions
Without -sid the IP changes per request. Add -sid-<session id> and -ttl-<minutes> to hold one IP for up to 60 minutes.
HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5
One gateway: port 6100 for HTTP and HTTPS, port 6200 for SOCKS5.
Allowed IPs for servers
Register up to 10 server IPv4 addresses to connect without a password. Handy for scheduled jobs and cloud servers.
When pay-per-GB residential fits
- Your monthly usage swings a lot and you only want to pay for what you use.
- Work comes in bursts, like a weekly report or a holiday season price check.
- You want to try a new target site with 5 GB or 10 GB first.
- You want to buy Max 2,000 GB once at $0.28 per GB and use it over several months.
- Several small tools share one account's traffic, each using a little.
When another product works better
- Heavy traffic every dayIf you use more than 10~13 GB a day, the unlimited plan costs less and is easier to budget. It doesn't count GB and charges a set price from $3.61 a day.
- Sites that accept server IPsIf the target opens fine on datacenter IPs, datacenter proxies start at $0.15 per IP per month, or $0.11 from 500 IPs. For jobs with lots of requests that is usually cheaper than paying per GB.
Residential Proxies FAQ
Does purchased traffic expire?
No. It stays in your account until you use it, and it doesn't reset when the month changes.
How much is 100 GB?
The Plus plan (100 GB) is $35.00. It falls in the 100~499 GB tier, so it is billed at $0.35 per GB.
What do the smallest and largest amounts cost?
You can buy from 5 GB to 5,000 GB. 5 GB costs $2.05 ($0.41 per GB), and 2,000 GB or more is $0.28 per GB.
Can I buy more later?
Yes. Buy again from your balance at any time and it is added to the traffic you have left.
Where do I set the country and session?
Chain the options onto the proxy username. Writing hpexample1-zone-res-cc-de-sid-a1-ttl-30 gives you one German IP for 30 minutes.
How do I pay?
First top up your balance with crypto. Each top-up can be $30 to $5,000, and visitors from 72 lower-income countries can start at $20. Top-ups of $100 or more get a bonus, so $100 becomes $120. Buy traffic from that balance. Neither the balance nor the traffic expires.
Top up $30 and get 78 GB of residential traffic
Pick a username and a password and you're in. Your balance never expires.
