Why not just check from the office?
Ad networks serve different ads depending on the viewer's location and connection type. What you see on an office IP can differ from what a real customer sees.
Some fraudulent placements show clean ads only to corporate and datacenter ranges. Opening the page from a home connection IP is how you catch those.
How do I pick a city?
Add -city- to the username, with the city name in lowercase and underscores. New York is -cc-us-city-new_york. Many of the 60 countries support city selection.
Choose a few cities within one campaign region and run the same check in each. Keep a screenshot and the final landing URL per city so your report has evidence.
What should each check save?
Save the page where the ad appeared, the creative shown, every address in the click path and the final landing page. Together they show whether placement and link match the order.
Hold one -sid session until the check is done, so the ad load, the click and the landing page all leave from the same IP. If the IP changes midway, a clean redirect chain can look broken.
How much traffic does it use?
One check opens an ad page, a click path and a landing page, which is a few MB. Small, irregular use like this suits per GB billing.
