Proxies for SEO rank tracking
The same keyword ranks differently depending on where the search comes from. Rankings seen from your office say little about other areas. With HiProxy residential IPs, your rank tracker searches from the country and city you choose.
Why do rankings vary by area?
Search engines adjust results to the searcher's country, language and nearby businesses. A local service keyword can be first in one city and on page two in the next.
Searching from a residential IP in each city returns what locals see. That is the ranking that tells you whether local SEO is working.
How do I set up tracking by city?
Put the country and city in the username, such as -cc-gb-city-london or -cc-us-city-los_angeles. Searches then leave from a residential IP in that area.
Build a list of keyword and city pairs in your tracker and attach the matching username to each. When you change areas, the username is the only thing to edit.
How often should I check?
Once a day is enough for most keywords, since rankings rarely shift within hours. A daily check also keeps requests and GB use low.
For the week after a launch or site move, check key terms more often, then go back to daily. With per GB billing you pay only for the extra checks that week.
Should the IP rotate or stay fixed?
Rotate. Each search is its own request, so a fresh IP each time spreads the load on its own. Leave out -sid and the gateway rotates for you.
Fix the IP briefly only when you page through several result pages for one keyword. Set -ttl- to a few minutes so the session ends around when that keyword is done.

Common questions
How many countries can I track?
Residential IPs cover 60 countries, and many of them support city selection.
Can I plug it into my rank tracking software?
Any program that accepts an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy with a username and password works. HTTP is port 6100 and SOCKS5 is port 6200.
I get results from the wrong country.
Check that the code after -cc- is two lowercase letters and spelled correctly. With a typo, the gateway cannot find the country you meant.
Can several client projects share one GB balance?
Yes. Give each project its own username options, and GB are drawn from the same place.
