Connect to HiProxy

All four products use the same gateway and log in with a proxy username and password. This page shows where those details live, how to add options and what to check when a connection fails.

Steps

  1. 1

    Pick a username

Choose a username and a password and you are signed up. No email needed. One IP address can open up to 3 accounts.

  2. 2

    Add balance

Top up a USD balance with crypto in the payment window. Top-ups start at $30, and the balance has no expiry date.

  3. 3

    Choose a plan

Buy residential, unlimited, static ISP or datacenter from your balance. The order shows activating until the network switches it on.

  4. 4

    Enter your details

Take the host, port, proxy username and proxy password from the dashboard and enter them in your tool. Add options to the username when you need a country, a city or a sticky session.

Which details do I need to connect?

Four of them: host, port, username and password. The host is gate.hiproxy.shop. The port is 6100 for HTTP and HTTPS or 6200 for SOCKS5. Your username starts with hp, like hpexample1. You can copy all of them from the dashboard.

Your proxy password is not the password you use to log in to the site. You can issue a new one in the dashboard at any time. If you do, update it in every tool that uses the proxy.

Host
gate.hiproxy.shop
HTTP, HTTPS port
6100
SOCKS5 port
6200
Sticky session
Up to 60 minutes

How do I add username options?

Add options one after another to the end of your proxy username, each starting with a hyphen. Example: hpexample1-zone-res-cc-us-city-new_york-sid-job42a-ttl-30. Changing options never changes the password.

How do I add username options?
OptionWhat it does
-zone-Picks the product: res for residential, unl for unlimited, isp for static ISP, dc for datacenter.
-cc-Sets the exit country as a lowercase two-letter code, for example us or jp.
-city-Sets the city in lowercase, with underscores instead of spaces (new_york). Many countries support city targeting.
-sid-Requests with the same session ID go out through the same IP. Make up any ID from letters and numbers.
-ttl-Sets how many minutes a sticky session holds its IP, from 1 to 60.

A new IP is used for every request.

This example uses a sample username. Your own username and password are in the dashboard.

curl -x http://gate.hiproxy.shop:6100 \
  -U "hpexample1-zone-res-cc-us:your_password" \

Example response

{ "ip": "203.0.113.134", "country": "US", "city": "New York" }

Example response from an IP in United States, New York.

Should the IP rotate or stay the same?

Leave out -sid and each request gets a new IP. That is the gateway default, and it fits scraping or rank tracking where requests don't depend on each other.

When a task needs the same IP across several steps, like logging in and then browsing the pages behind the login, add -sid. Add -ttl too if you want to hold that IP for a set number of minutes, up to 60.

Can I connect without a password?

Yes. Register up to 10 server IPv4 addresses in the Allowed IPs list in the dashboard. Requests from those servers get through without the proxy password.

How do I check that it works?

Open a terminal and run curl -x http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@gate.hiproxy.shop:6100 https://api.ipify.org with your own values in place of USERNAME and PASSWORD. The address it prints is the IP your request used. Run it twice without -sid and you should see two different IPs.

How do I set it up in a browser or another program?

In a browser, open the proxy settings or a proxy extension and enter the host, port, username and password. For SOCKS5, switch the type to SOCKS5 and set the port to 6200.

Most scrapers, HTTP libraries and automation tools take a single proxy URL like http://username:password@gate.hiproxy.shop:6100. Put your options inside the username part of that URL.

What to check when it doesn't connect

  • 407 Proxy Authentication Required

The username or password is wrong. Copy both again from the dashboard and check the options for typos. If you issued a new password, update it in your tool as well.

  • Connection refused or timed out

Make sure the host is gate.hiproxy.shop and the port is right: 6100 for HTTP and HTTPS, 6200 for SOCKS5. Check that the protocol in your tool matches the port and that no firewall is blocking outgoing connections.

  • The IP is in the wrong country

Check that -cc- is a lowercase two-letter code and that spaces in city names are underscores. Static ISP and datacenter IPs are fixed to the country you picked at purchase.

  • The IP changes more often than I want

Add -sid- with a session ID and -ttl- with the minutes you need, up to 60. Every request that should share one IP must send the same sid.

  • My order is still activating

New orders show activating until the network switches them on. If an order can't be activated, it is cancelled and everything you paid goes back to your balance.
